Live Kaizen is honored to host an exciting, engaging and immersive “Digital in Action” team-building workshop for Sasol HQ. The workshop is aimed at providing mental pabulum to employees and is a resounding success with teams coming away with fresh nuanced ideas to incorporate strategy and digital into their everyday work routines.

Live Kaizen hosts our inaugural National Junior Robotics Competition in Midrand South Africa. The event is well attended with a stellar line-up of talks from top Industry professionals including Ryonic Robotics and lecturers from various academic institutions; as well as celebrities- our official favourite being John Vlismas – far more than just a famous comedian. Accepted an invitation from the district director of the GDE (Gauteng Department of Education) to reshape the future of robotics education in specialist schools across the province. This work is ongoing.

Attending the World Robotics Olympiad national competition at the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria was a complete blast. The participants all performed exceptionally, and we got to mingle with various like-minded Roboticists!

We were both excited and honoured to be invited by the CEO of Mercurial Pictures, Dr. L. Manzi, to give a technical presentation about the uses and impact of Robotics in the film industry . Our presentation was met with great enthusiasm at MUT in Kwa-Zulu Natal; both by the students at the University of Technology as well as by various national and international guests at the CineCulture at Essence festival. Enabling and inspiring many budding mechatronics engineers and roboticists was most certainly a highlight; and we look forward to seeing many great movies based in the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres coming out of Africa in the near future.

Extremely excited for our CEO, Shazia Labhadur, who was nominated by #COCREATESA, an initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in South Africa, to be an inspiring women, among the many female role models in the innovation and technology sector.

Efforts to encourage and inspire children towards careers which have their roots in STEM education was met with great enthusiasm by the children in Foundation and Intermediate Phases of their schooling careers at Franklin D. Rooseveldt Primary School. We were elated to host a volunteer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) outreach workshop at the school. The children were enthusiastic and the HOD Mrs. R Julius is beyond a shadow of a doubt, the coolest HOD we’ve ever met 🙂

The year 2016 ended with a resounding “BANG”, after the success of our STEM Holiday Programmes, Founder and CEO, Shazia Labhadur was invited as a guest to make our television debut on a hip teen variety show called Funatix on SABC 3!
