BATTLE BOT BASH
BATTLE BOT BASH NATIONAL JUNIOR FINAL
The annual BBB National Junior final was held at Rand Merchant Bank in Sandton on the 22nd of June 2025, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
A total of 16 Teams qualified. Participants attended from all corners of the country, including South Africa’s major cities of Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. With Robot demonstrations, special guest judges from Wits School of Engineering and the University of Cape Town, and the keynote speech provided by local and international celebrity John Vlismas. We look forward to our senior challenge in December in 2025:

The competitions will be conducted in leagues, as follows:
- School Students – open to all school-going children attending any school in South Africa
- Universities and Professionals – open to all students attending a South African University (regardless of nationality), as well as organisations with Operations in South Africa, and individuals currently living in South Africa.
Leagues are based on skill-level and entrants will be allocated to a league based on the complexity of their robot. Entrants of all ages and skill levels may enter any of the competition classes.
Entry for all Live Kaizen participants is free.
Participants who do not purchase the kit may enter at a fee of R300 per team member. Any given team of up-to 4, may enter up to 2 robots to the Battle Bot Bash.
Any given Robot may enter any number of competitions (see table above) for which it is eligible.
KITS AND TRAINING ARE PROVIDED
All schools, individuals, and robotics clubs who wish to compete may purchase a kit. The kit includes training workshops. Each Battle Bot Bash kit is comprised of 1 robot. Each kit is suitable for 3-4 learners or individuals. Email shazialabhadur@gmail.com for further information regarding kit costs and training packages for schools, universities, and corporates.
